Motivational Tip for the Day

Here is a journal question for you, that you may want to consider on a regular basis, not just once:

What habits, routines, behaviors, thoughts, words, actions and emotions could you change right now, or in the near future, that will turn you into the person that achieves your dreams?

This is not an easy question to answer and will take some time to analyze, but it is an important one. You see, one of the main things that we do wrong when setting goals is to stop at setting the goals, or maybe we even go as far as creating projects that align with the goals. However, the main reason that we tend to stop before finishing those projects, or are even close to reaching our goals is, that we are not working on becoming the person that we need to become in order to take the action needed to achieve those goals.

Make Fundamental Changes

For that to happen we need to change. Some of us, will only have to make a small adjustment – for example, if you already work out regularly, but now you decide to run a marathon in 6 months, without being a runner, you have already an established habit to build from. Yet, you need to change your habit of working out to fit your new goal, and in order to do that, you have to become a runner. You need to think like one, you need to feel like one, you need to behave like one, eat like one – all those little things, that are not a part of who you are right now as you are setting this goal, but can change into from now on.

The process of changing yourself into a runner will eventually make you one, but if you are instead of focusing on your end goal, it might feel like an impossible task or an overwhelming task. With which mindset, do you think you are more likely to succeed? Which will set you up for failure?

This concept works for every aspect of your life, whether it is work-related, or is personal. Take this journal question to heart, and I will be surely seeing you at the finish line of your goal.
