In today’s episode of my mindfulness podcast, I shared a concept of using mindfulness as an active c-creation tool, and therefore enhance your ability to utilize Law of Attraction to your advantage. Mindfulness Podcast Episode 04: How To Be Happy Now, While Manifesting A Brighter Tomorrow
We all want more of what we have at this moment, whether it is a big item, such as a new car, or an experience – having more free time to spend with the people we love, or the promotion you know you deserve, as an example, so manifesting whatever is on our list tends to often be our continuous focus, but this can be a mindset, that disconnects us even further from what we actually want, as it is lack focused.
Even with the best intentions, and without any worries, that desire is still something that is out there somewhere – and not in the present, which keeps us often at a distance from the desired outcome, and we manifest more waiting time, more longing, and more patience – but not the actual experience.
Therefore the key to overcoming this is, to connect oneself deeply with the happiness of what is now, those moments that we often overlook on our journey to reaching more. It is within that now, that we can find peace, a connection to creativity, inspiration, and true, deep happiness.
So today, I want to focus on how to connect with that happiness of the present moment, while still manifesting a brighter tomorrow. But that, I would like to thank the sponsor of today’s episode: Anchor
Begin With Present-Moment Awareness
The first and most important step in this process is the deliberate awareness of the present moment. Instead of allowing your thoughts to run rampant, which often leads to them straying away from what is right in front of you, and rushing toward what either happened in your last encounter with that annoying neighbor, or toward the anticipated argument with your boss, mindfulness techniques, used deliberately and continuously put a stop to this instantly, and brings your attention back toward the present moment.
Utilize The Power Of Gratitude
From this perspective of present awareness, you can utilize the power of gratitude. You now have a chance to not simply practice the superficial way of making a gratitude list, but to connect with things to appreciate as they are, sharing this space with you.
Be present and grateful for the person you are sharing the space with, the tools you have in front of you, that make your life easier, or simply the sunshine that is coming through the window right now. If you really want to, you can and will find something that is worthy of appreciation – at all times! Spend some time in this present-moment gratitude practice.
At the beginning of your practicing this, you may want to stay with the things that are simple to appreciate, before moving on to more complicated subjects that have an already attached neutral or even negative meaning for you. You are not trying to find appreciation right now that is hidden, but the type that is obvious, but which we just usually ignore. Or when was it the last time, you chose to really be thankful for that coffee maker that keeps you from falling asleep at your desk every day?
Fuel Positive Emotions
During this practice, you may notice additional positive feelings emerge. Feel free to fuel those, as soon as they come up, basking in the pride you may feel as you look over your home, or your family, the love you experience as you glance at your spouse, or your pets, the creative energy pulsing through you as you are preparing your meals, the healthy strength you feel as you work out. Stay with them, revel in them, and be present with those experiences.
A Powerful Segment Intending Process
Any of these feelings are available to you at any time, that you choose to tune into them. You can even take them with you, emphasizing a practice that Abraham Hicks calls Segment Intending.
Choose a feeling that you want to experience in the next activity you are about to embark on, by focusing on it right now, and then deliberately continuing to find evidence to fuel that positive emotion in your next segment. This is easier because you are already experiencing a momentum of positive emotions, rather than moving onto a next action without deliberate thought. You can take advantage of the positive feelings that are already with you, and add more fire to them, as you move throughout your day.
Then come back to the present moment, and stay aware, and focused on the now.
Allow And Learn From Contrasting Experiences
Even after practicing this for a few days, or weeks, contrasting emotions will still come into your day, but instead of reacting to them willfully or with more negativity, I suggest that you instead greet them with the soft awareness that because of these negative experiences, you are learning more about what you do want experience, and you may even find lessons in these moments, that can assist you further down the line. With these thoughts, you are disarming these experiences, and turning them into an opportunity, and another chance to be proud of yourself for your level-headed response!
As you practice the before-mentioned steps, more often you will be able to feel that your overall level of happiness and contentment, as well as your inner peace, has increased. You will now have found a way to stay positive while staying actively engaged in creating what you have always wanted to create, and can experience the joy of being deliberate at any given time.
From this place of being, a daily practice of scripting, and visualization of future goals is extremely effective, because you are following through on these activities from a place of present-oriented happiness.
