33 Inspirational Charity Quotes for The International Day of Charity

33 Inspirational Charity Quotes for The International Day of Charity

Today is the International Day of Charity, which is why I wanted to bring you some inspiration on the subject. But before I get started, I want to define what the word charity means to me personally:

Giving without expecting any return, of either my time, my money, or a combination of both.

I know that others may have a different definition of charity and that in some cases, especially as it relates to charitable organizations, this can have a negative feel, however, I hope this will not distract you from finding a way to do acts of kindness.

Question:

How do you define charity?

Note: At the end of the list of quotes, you will find video and action steps, that will improve your life!

As some of my regular readers know, I am a firm believer in not just reading about charity and or kindness, but that information is only as useful as the action is that we take afterward. Today, I wanted to share with you a video to inspire you to be more charitable and kind – not only with money (because let’s face it, not all of us are able to give monetary gifts or donations) but also with our time and attention. Mark Kelly – an inspirational podcaster has some absolutely great ideas on how we could all spread a little kindness, and how it will not only benefit the person we are giving it to, but also feel the reward of this action as an increase of our own happiness.

Questions to ponder:

  1. what little act of kindness can you do, starting today? Make a list, and do them.
  2. how can you get people you care about involved in doing these acts of kindness as well?
  3. Consider starting a related journal practice. Journal about what you did, how you felt. I personally would not share this journal with anyone – as I would consider this boasting – but it can help you through times where you might not think that you can actually make a difference, to help you realize how much of a difference you are actually making.

  • The first step, then, is to consciously decide every night to actively and mindfully create a positive expectation for the next morning.
  • If you want to attract, create and sustain extraordinary levels of success and income, you must first figure out how to become the person that is capable of easily and consistently attracting, creating, and sustaining the extraordinary levels of income you desire.
  • More important than the time that you start your day is the mindset with which you start your day
  • How you start each morning determines your mindset, and the context, for the rest of your day. Start every day with a purposeful, disciplined, growth-infused, and goal-oriented morning, and you’re virtually guaranteed to crush your day
  • “Remember, the moment you accept total responsibility for everything in your life is the moment you claim the power to change anything in your life.”
  • Focused, productive, successful mornings generate focused, productive, successful days—which inevitably create a successful life.
  • “Research shows that on any given day, the average person thinks somewhere between 50,000 and 60,000 thoughts. The problem is that ninety-five percent of our thoughts are the same as the ones we thought the day before, and the day before that, and the day before that.”
  • “When are you going to develop yourself into the person you need to be to create the levels of health, wealth, happiness, success, and freedom that you truly want and deserve? When are you going to actually live your life instead of numbly going through the motions looking for every possible distraction to escape reality? What if your reality—your life—could finally be something that you can’t wait to be conscious for?”
  • “Your level of success will seldom exceed your level of personal development because success is something you attract by the person you become.”
  • “If you don’t consciously design and choose your affirmations you are susceptible to repeating and reliving the fears, insecurities, and limitations of your past.”
  • “We are usually running around trying to get ready for the day, and our minds are often plagued with internal chatter about what we have to do, where we have to go, we have to see, what we forgot to do, the fact that we are running late, a recent argument with our significant other or family member.”
  • “Everyone’s dream is different. What it does mean is living your definition of an extraordinary life. A life where you get to call the shots, and live life on your terms, with the freedom to do, be, and have everything you’ve ever wanted for your life. No excuses. No regrets. Just an incredible, meaningful, and exciting life!”
  • “Often when people feel tired—at any time of the day—what they really need is more water, not more sleep.”
  • “Whereas being extraordinary—which leads to extraordinary levels of success—is a result of choosing to learn, grow, and be a little bit better each day than you’ve been in the past.”
  • “Your first thought in the morning is usually the last thought you had before you went to bed.”
  • “In other words how we feel when we wake up in the morning and this is a very important distinction is not solely based on how many hours of sleep you got that significantly impacted by how we told ourselves we are going to feel when we woke up.”
  • “When we fail to make time for personal development, we are forced to make time for pain and struggle.”

  • “I believe it is crucial for us to embrace the perspective that anything another person has overcome or accomplished is simply evidence that anything—and I mean anything—you need to overcome or want to accomplish is possible for you, no matter what your past or current circumstances. It begins with accepting total responsibility for every aspect of your life and refusing to blame anyone else. The degree to which you accept responsibility for everything in your life is precisely the degree of personal power you have to change or create anything in your life.”
  • “To make profound changes in your life, you need either inspiration or desperation.”
  • “How you wake up each day and your morning routine (or lack thereof) dramatically affects your levels of success in every single area of your life. Focused, productive, successful mornings generate focused, productive, successful days—which inevitably create a successful life—in the same way, that unfocused, unproductive, and mediocre mornings generate unfocused, unproductive, and mediocre days, and ultimately a mediocre quality of life.”
  • “Your life right now—everything from your work and your health to your relationships and your finances—is the result of choices you’ve made in the past. The job you have right now is a choice that you made at some point. And, whether you realize it or not, a choice you’ve made every day since. You can tell yourself that you have to do the work you do, but the truth is, you don’t. It’s a choice. Are you carrying around ten or twenty pounds of lifestyle-related fat? That’s the result of thousands of choices that you made over recent days, weeks, months and years. How about your significant other, or your close friendships? They’re all choices. Your furniture, the food in your fridge, the car you drive. They’re all choices. They are all, without exception, the results of your past behavior. The same thing applies to wealth.”

  • “It is the idea that doing the hard task first (“frog-eating”) and getting it out of the way creates momentum and makes the rest of the day more productive.”
  • “And, as a result of choosing to be genuinely grateful for all that I had, unconditionally accepting of all that I didn’t, and accepting total responsibility for creating all that I wanted,”
  • “Our outer world will always be a reflection of our inner world. Our level of success is always going to parallel our level of personal development.”
  • “We live in a culture that perpetuates the belief that when our lives are busy and exciting, we are more valuable, more important, or more alive. In truth, we are all of those things when we can be at peace within our own skin. Despite our best intentions to live balanced lives, though, the modern world demands that we are almost always connected and productive, and these demands can drain us emotionally, spiritually, and physically.”
  • “There is nothing to fear because you cannot fail—only learn, grow, and become better than you’ve ever been before.”
  • “You want your life to be different, you have to be willing to do something different first!”

  • “Your life is who you are at the deepest level. Your life is made up of the internal components, attitudes, and mindsets that can give you the power to alter, enhance, or change your life situation at any given moment.”
  • “Your level of success will rarely exceed your level of personal development because success is something you attract by the person you become,” I stopped in my tracks. This one philosophy was going to change my entire life.”
